The Sustainable City Projects at India's Cleanest City – Indore is an integrated urban sustainability initiative developed by Indore Smart City Development Ltd. The project focuses on improving municipal solid waste management through scientific collection, segregation, processing, treatment, and disposal systems that significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from urban waste.
Registered under the Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the project applies internationally recognized methodologies to reduce methane emissions associated with conventional waste disposal while supporting resource recovery, circular economy practices, and sustainable urban infrastructure. The initiative demonstrates how modern city management can deliver measurable climate benefits alongside cleaner and healthier urban environments.
