Project Description

The 9.9 MW Taksar-Pikhuwa Hydropower Project is a utility-scale renewable energy facility in Nepal generating clean electricity through hydropower. Commissioned in 2019, the project is recognized as Nepal's first Hydro I-REC project, marking a significant milestone in the country's renewable energy certificate ecosystem.

Registered under the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) framework, the project successfully issued its first I-RECs in June 2025 and is RE100 Eligible, enabling organizations to procure internationally recognized renewable electricity certificates for sustainability reporting and renewable energy commitments.
