Project Description
The 8.5 MW Butwal Solar PV Project is a utility-scale solar photovoltaic facility located in Rupandehi, Nepal, generating clean renewable electricity through advanced solar PV technology. Commissioned in 2020, the project plays an important role in expanding Nepal's renewable energy capacity while supplying internationally recognized renewable electricity certificates.
Registered under the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) framework, the project is RE100 Eligible and is recognized among Nepal's pioneering Solar I-REC projects, with registration supported by Monsoon Carbon. The project enables organizations to procure verified renewable electricity certificates to support sustainability reporting, renewable electricity procurement, and corporate clean energy commitments.
