300 TPD Baidyabati Composting Project

PRAN-VCS-5296 India Waste Handling & Disposal

Project Description

The 300 TPD Baidyabati Composting Project is a municipal solid waste management initiative developed by Eastern Organic Fertilizer Pvt. Ltd. (EOFPL) in Hooghly District, West Bengal. The project utilizes aerobic composting technology to scientifically process biodegradable municipal waste into nutrient-rich organic compost while preventing methane emissions that would otherwise occur through conventional landfill disposal.

Registered under the Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the project supports sustainable urban waste management, promotes circular economy practices, and delivers measurable climate benefits through avoided greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to reducing landfill dependency, the project contributes to resource recovery by converting organic waste into valuable agricultural inputs.
