The Reforestation of Degraded Land by MTPL is a large-scale Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR) initiative focused on restoring degraded forest landscapes across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Developed by the Mangalam Timber Unit of Mangalam Cement Limited, the project establishes long-term forest cover on previously degraded land, enabling significant atmospheric carbon sequestration while improving ecosystem resilience.
Registered under the Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) using AR-ACM0001 methodology, the project delivers measurable climate benefits through sustainable forest restoration. Beyond carbon removal, the initiative supports biodiversity conservation, improves soil health, enhances watershed functions, and creates long-term ecological value through responsible land management.
