About this project

Bright Future Africa – Vol.2 (Uganda) is a large-scale afforestation and reforestation initiative designed to plant 255 million indigenous trees across deforested institutional land in Uganda. The project restores degraded ecosystems while generating long-term carbon removals through scientifically monitored forest restoration.

Developed by the GRO Foundation, the project applies the AR-ACM0003 Version 2.0 methodology using a census-based accounting approach to accurately quantify species-specific carbon sequestration. Beyond carbon removal, the initiative promotes biodiversity restoration, sustainable livelihoods, community participation, and environmental resilience while connecting local communities to international carbon markets.
